ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Igwe is an experimental sneakers studio run by Samuel Baruch. Industrial designer, inspired by architectural and urban poetry, he imagines new shapes, experiments innovative concepts and researches sustainable materials to design his sneakers.
Igwe production is wonderfully clean, experimental, innovative and circular. For instance, Igwe uses recycled plastic from bottles for their laces. Igwe is working on alternatives to use waste and unused raw materials, like recycling old shoes to make new soles. You can bring back your old Igwe shoes to be recycled through Priest London. Also, for each parcel, a part of the price is given to a cleaning ocean NGO.
The materials for Igwe sneakers are sustainably sourced and developed throughout Southern Europe. They are handcrafted in traditional sneaker factories in Portugal. Igwe has worked hard to develop a supply chain process that actively reduces CO2 impact. Their supply chain is designed and implemented in the most efficient way to meet the brand's environmental expectations, particularly working to prevent unnecessary carbon emissions linked to transportation.
Igwe Paris carefully selects its production partners in France, Spain, Italy, Portugal. All are committed to better and clean production in good social conditions, respect the REACH European conditions and have invested in sustainable energy.
